Magura MT5 Front Brake Overview

The Magura MT5 Front Brake delivers powerful 4-piston braking for gravity, enduro and downhill riding. This is brand new, unused OE stock with a 900mm hydraulic hose. It is supplied without original packaging. The system is fully bled and ready to fit, while the barb and olive are not included.

The Flip-Flop master allows the brake lever to be mounted on either side of the handlebar. Therefore, the brake can be configured for front or rear use where the hose length suits the bike. This listing is supplied with the shorter 900mm hose commonly used for front-brake installations.

The MT5 takes much of its braking concept from the higher-end MT7. Its one-piece 4-piston design provides strong braking force while still giving the rider fine control. As a result, it works particularly well on steep trails and demanding descents.

Magura also draws on its motorsport braking experience in the MT5. The combination of four pistons, a rigid aluminium caliper and an ergonomic aluminium lever helps provide the stability and modulation needed when braking hard on technical terrain.

Magura MT5 Front Brake Performance & Use

The MT5 is built for riders who need strong braking on steep and technical terrain.
Its four pistons apply force across the brake pads with high stability. Therefore, the brake can produce strong stopping power without sacrificing control.
At the same time, the rigid one-piece aluminium caliper helps maintain a consistent lever feel. This is especially useful during repeated braking on long descents.

The ergonomic aluminium lever also helps the rider control braking force accurately. As a result, the MT5 offers good modulation when grip levels change or when precise braking is needed through technical sections.
The Carbotecture master keeps weight down while maintaining strength. In addition, the Flip-Flop design allows the master to be installed on either side of the handlebar.

Shift Mix compatible – allows compatible SRAM trigger shifters to be mounted to the MAGURA brake clamp
