Magura MT4 Brake Set Overview

The Magura MT4 Brake Set is a lightweight hydraulic braking system for mountain bikers who want dependable braking power without unnecessary weight. This is brand new, unused OE stock supplied without original packaging.

Both brakes have 1750mm hoses. Therefore, the front hose will likely need shortening. Depending on the bike and frame size, the rear hose may also need adjusting or replacing with a longer hose.

The Flip-Flop lever design allows either lever to mount on the left or right side of the handlebar. As a result, the brakes can be configured for UK or EU-style lever layouts.

Performance and Design

The MT4 works as an all-round brake for riders who value stability, control and low weight.

Its 2-piston aluminium calipers provide predictable braking for general MTB use. Meanwhile, the 2-finger aluminium levers allow the rider to control braking force comfortably from the handlebar.

In addition, MAGURA uses Carbotecture for the brake master. This carbon-fibre reinforced material combines low weight with high impact resistance and bending strength.

Easy Bleed Technology also makes routine bleeding and maintenance more straightforward. Furthermore, the Flip-Flop design gives greater freedom when setting up the cockpit.

ShiftMix Compatibility

The MT4 is compatible with MAGURA ShiftMix clamp systems.
ShiftMix allows compatible shifters or remotes to share the brake-master clamp. Therefore, riders can create a cleaner cockpit with fewer separate handlebar clamps.
The exact ShiftMix adapter required depends on the shifter or remote being used.

Hose Length and Installation

Both supplied hoses measure 1750mm.
The front hose will likely need shortening for a typical installation. However, the required length depends on the fork, frame size and cable routing.
The rear hose may suit many bikes as supplied. On larger frames or bikes with longer internal routing, a longer hose may be required.
