SRAM DB8 4 Piston Brake Overview

The SRAM DB8 4 Piston Brake is a powerful hydraulic brake for mountain bikes and e-MTBs. This unit is brand new, unused OEM stock with a 900mm hose. It comes without original packaging, and the bar clamp is not included.

The FlipFlop lever can mount on either side of the handlebar. Therefore, the brake can work as either a front or rear brake where the 900mm hose is long enough for the bike’s routing.

SRAM designed the DB8 for riders who want strong braking with simple maintenance. In addition, it uses mineral oil instead of DOT fluid, which makes routine servicing more straightforward.

Performance and Use

The DB8 provides strong braking for technical trails, steep descents and heavier e-MTBs.

Its four-piston caliper creates stable braking force under higher loads. As a result, riders get dependable stopping power when terrain becomes rough or steep.

In addition, SRAM based the caliper architecture on the proven Code platform. The DB8 also uses the same pad format as Code brakes. Therefore, replacement pads are easy to source.

The mineral oil system also keeps maintenance simple. Meanwhile, the two-finger lever gives the rider comfortable control and adjustable reach.

Because the lever uses SRAM’s FlipFlop design, it can mount on either side of the handlebar. This makes the brake suitable for front or rear installation, provided the hose length suits the bike.
