SRAM G2 RS 4-Piston Brake Overview

The SRAM G2 RS 4-Piston Brake combines strong trail braking with SRAM SwingLink technology for controlled modulation and a smooth lever feel.

This brake comes with a 1650mm hydraulic hose and can be used for either front or rear installation. For typical front use, the hose will need shortening to suit the bike.

SRAM designed the G2 RS for mountain biking where riders need four-piston braking power without losing fine control at the lever. It is brand new stock supplied without original packaging.

SwingLink™ Braking Control

SwingLink changes the leverage through the brake lever stroke. The pads move quickly towards the rotor at the beginning of the pull, while the leverage changes once braking starts.

As a result, the rider gets fast pad engagement followed by smoother control of braking force. This helps reduce an abrupt on/off feel and gives the G2 RS its characteristic modulation.

4-Piston Performance

The G2 RS uses a four-piston caliper designed for trail and all-mountain riding. Therefore, it provides strong braking while still allowing the rider to manage speed precisely.

In addition, steel-backed organic pads provide a smooth and controlled braking feel for general trail use.

Front or Rear Installation

The 1650mm hose allows this brake to be used at either end of the bike, provided the hose length suits the frame and routing.

For front installation, the hose will normally need shortening. Rear compatibility depends on the bike’s frame size and hose routing, so check the required length before installation.

Reach Adjust

The G2 RS uses tool-free Reach Adjust, allowing the rider to change the distance between the lever blade and handlebar without a separate tool.

Therefore, the lever position can be adapted more easily to different hand sizes and riding preferences. SRAM officially lists tool-free adjustment for the G2 RS A2.
