DT Swiss G 1800 Rear Wheel Overview

The DT Swiss G 1800 Rear Wheel is a 700c gravel wheel built for everyday adventures, bikepacking and mixed-surface riding. It is brand new and supplied in its original box. This listing is for the rear wheel only.

The wheel uses a Shimano Road HG-L freehub body, also identified as ASF11. Therefore, it suits compatible Shimano and SRAM HG road cassettes. It also has a standard 12x142mm rear thru-axle fitment and a Center Lock brake interface.

The aluminium rim measures 24mm internally and 25mm high. As a result, it gives modern gravel tyres a stable base. It also supports both tubeless and standard clincher setups.

In addition, the DT Swiss 370 Straightpull hub uses an 18-tooth Ratchet LN freehub system. This design offers reliable engagement and simple servicing. Therefore, the wheel is well suited to regular use in poor weather and demanding conditions.

DT Swiss G 1800 Rear Wheel Performance & Use

The DT Swiss G 1800 Rear Wheel is designed for riders who move between tarmac, gravel tracks and rough country roads.

Because the rim has a 24mm internal width, it provides stable support for wider gravel tyres. Therefore, compatible tyres can keep a better shape during cornering and braking.

The wider rim also allows suitable tyres to run at lower pressures. As a result, riders can gain more grip and comfort on loose or uneven ground.

In addition, the rim is Tubeless Ready. A compatible tubeless setup can help reduce pinch flats. However, the hooked rim can also be used with standard clincher tyres and inner tubes.

The 370 rear hub uses DT Swiss’s Ratchet LN system. Two toothed ratchets engage across a broad contact area. Therefore, the system offers dependable power transfer and long-term serviceability.

Furthermore, the Straightpull hub supports direct spoke alignment. DT Aero Comp Wide spokes also help balance stiffness and comfort. As a result, the wheel suits long rides, daily gravel use and loaded bikepacking trips.
