FOX 34 SL Factory Fork Overview

The FOX 34 SL Factory Fork is a lightweight 29″ suspension fork built for XC racing and downcountry riding. This 2026 model has 120mm of travel, a 44mm offset and a GRIP SL Push-Lock remote damper. It is brand new and unused OEM stock. However, it is supplied without the original box.

The manuals are included, and the tapered aluminium steerer tube is uncut. In addition, the fork includes a 15x110mm Kabolt SL Boost thru axle. The required handlebar remote is not included.

The full-width 34mm chassis provides more support than the previous 34 Step-Cast design. At the same time, FOX has reduced unnecessary material around the crown and arch. As a result, the fork combines low weight with improved steering precision.

The Factory Series specification also includes Genuine Kashima Coat. Furthermore, the FLOAT EVOL air spring and GRIP SL damper provide efficient pedalling, smooth small-bump response and controlled travel on technical terrain.

FOX 34 SL Factory Fork Performance & Use

The FOX 34 SL Factory Fork is designed for riders who want race-level efficiency without giving up control on technical trails.

The 34mm chassis provides accurate steering under braking and cornering loads. In addition, the redesigned crown increases torsional stiffness compared with the previous FOX XC chassis. Therefore, the fork feels more controlled on rough and fast sections.

FOX also increased the bushing overlap within the lower legs. As a result, the fork can move more smoothly while maintaining better support through the travel.

The FLOAT EVOL air spring provides a supple initial response. Therefore, the front wheel can track small bumps and loose surfaces more effectively.

Meanwhile, the GRIP SL damper is tuned for short-travel XC use. It balances pedalling efficiency with bump absorption. As a result, riders can climb efficiently while still maintaining grip and control on technical descents.

The Push-Lock remote system allows the fork to switch between Open and Firm settings from the handlebar. However, the remote lever is sold separately.

Remote Lockout Operation

The GRIP SL Push-Lock damper uses a compatible handlebar remote.

Open

Open mode allows the fork to move freely through its travel. Therefore, it provides the best grip and comfort on rough terrain.

Firm

Firm mode creates a stronger pedalling platform. As a result, it suits smooth climbs, road sections and sprint efforts.

The damper also includes a blow-off function. Therefore, the fork can still respond to a larger unexpected impact while the Firm setting is active.

The handlebar remote and cable are not included. A compatible FOX Push-Lock remote system is required.

Chassis and Crown Design

The 34 SL uses a full-width 34mm chassis instead of the narrower Step-Cast lower-leg profile.
FOX developed the crown through a generative design process. In addition, strategic cut-outs reduce material where it is not needed.
As a result, the crown offers approximately 17% greater torsional stiffness than the previous FOX XC chassis while keeping weight low.
The lower-leg bypass channels also increase the available air volume. Therefore, pressure build-up within the lower legs is reduced during compression. This helps the fork use its travel more consistently.
